This past week has been a bit of a balancing act — between managing health, digging into food research, and trying to keep my creative flame burning.
Living with colitis means each meal is a mindful choice, and sometimes, a bit of a gamble. I’ve spent hours reading, googling, second-guessing, and label-reading like a detective trying to crack the code of “safe” foods. Spoiler alert: there’s no one-size-fits-all. What soothes one person might stir things up for another.
Still, in the chaos, I found a few old friends I shouldn’t have left behind.
✨ I’ve returned to fermenting my own vegetables — something about the crunch of homemade kraut feels like a hug to my gut.
✨ I’m also back to drinking kombucha, and honestly, I don’t know why I ever stopped. The tang, the fizz, the benefits… it just feels right.
But healing isn’t just about what goes on your plate — it’s also about what you allow in your heart and schedule. I gave myself grace this week. Grace to slow down. Grace to let go of perfect. And most importantly, grace to do something that brings me joy.
🎨 In between food research and symptom tracking, I made space to design again. Creating art always reminds me that I’m more than my diagnosis. That joy is medicinal. That self-expression is a form of healing, too.
And from that place of creativity and compassion, I created something for you.

🌿 A Little Extra Gut Support I Love
While food journaling and homemade ferments have been a big part of my healing this week, I also want to share a product that has made a noticeable difference for me.
👉 Check out this gut-friendly digestive support supplement on Amazon
This product is packed with ingredients known to help calm inflammation and support digestion — something I deeply appreciate while managing Colitis. I’ve noticed it helps reduce bloating and discomfort after meals, and it’s become a staple in my wellness toolbox. If you’re also trying to support your gut naturally, this could be a gentle ally on your path.
👉 This fermented digestive enzyme supplement has been a game-changer. Because it’s fermented, it’s easier for the body to absorb, and it supports digestion in a way that feels natural and gentle — which is especially helpful when your gut is feeling sensitive or inflamed (hello, colitis days). I take it before meals that I know might be a bit harder on my system, and I’ve definitely noticed less bloating and discomfort.
I Love Fermentation Glass Weights
Fermenting cauliflower is my favorite when it comes to fermenting veggies. Not only are they great for tummy health, they taste amazing!!! If you’ve ever thought about fermenting your own, one item that is indispensable are fermentation glass weights. Fermentation glass weights are a game-changer for any fermenting setup. They’re designed to keep your veggies fully submerged under the brine—no floaters, no mold worries. I suggest using these. Happy fermenting!
👉 Check them out on Amazon

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in a flare, or just trying to reconnect with your gut and your peace — I see you. You’re not alone. This road isn’t always easy, but there’s beauty in it, too.
Wishing you grace, good gut bugs, and moments of creative magic,
Misti
