When Life Changes in a Moment
This past week, I found myself in the ER overnight, in intense pain and full of uncertainty. I was diagnosed with Colitis—a word that came fast and hit hard. Everything slowed down. The pain, the questions, the stillness of the hospital lights.
It’s one of those moments when your body demands your full attention. And in that stillness, something unexpected showed up alongside the pain: a whisper of peace.
The Healing Space of Creativity
Art has always been my anchor. Whether I’m painting another frog or designing a new “Downtown” dress, creativity connects me to something deeper. It’s not just a way to express myself—it’s a way to feel safe, to feel seen, to feel whole again.
This week, as I recovered, I found comfort in color, texture, and softness. I sketched from bed. I imagined fabrics that felt like gentle hugs. I let my hands do what my heart needed: to process.
“Creativity doesn’t demand that we be strong. It just asks us to show up—with our truth, with our tenderness, and sometimes, with trembling hands.”
A New Kind of Collection
Even in the quiet, I began dreaming of a new line—one inspired by healing.
Fabrics that breathe. Cuts that move with the body. Pieces that honor rest, comfort, and self-love.
I don’t know exactly what it will look like yet, but I know it will be honest. It will be real. And it will be born from this experience.
To Anyone Moving Through Something…
If you’re walking through illness, change, or grief, I want you to know:
You’re not alone.
Your softness is not weakness.
And your creativity can be a lifeline.
Let it be your quiet companion. Let it hold space for your feelings. Let it help you find beauty, even in the hard places.
💛 With love from my cozy desk to yours,
Misti
